Graduation Toss

2020 has been a rough ride for all of us. Faced with a tough unseen enemy, we fought back with ways we were never accustomed to or comfortable with, and maybe never will be – social distancing, home quarantine, and wearing a mask, among others. The year is drawing to a close, and whether all its troubles will also end with it remains uncertain. However, let us not waver in this fight; our efforts are bearing fruit, slow it may seem.

As we move forward to 2021, I dream that the new year will be brighter than the past; that the world will be a safer place again. In time, we can freely enjoy the company of our friends and family as we used to. In time, we can explore the fresh outdoor with no fear once more. In time, we can clearly see each other’s beautiful smiles again. For then, we shall graduate from this adversity, and we will all be tossing our face masks in the air.
